From Spreadsheet Lover to Financial Coach for Women
I’m Jordan, founder of Her Financial Help and your partner in building financial confidence. As a wife, mom, and the CFO of my own household, I understand the unique financial challenges women face – and I’m here to help you overcome them.
How I Became Passionate About Women’s Financial Literacy
My journey with money started long before I became a financial coach.
In 2017, I began my career as a licensed insurance agent, helping families protect their financial futures. But it was through this work that I discovered something crucial: most women were making important financial decisions without feeling truly confident about them.
Like many women, I found myself naturally taking on the role of CFO in my household – tracking expenses, managing budgets, and making countless financial decisions for our family of four.
My insurance background gave me insight into the importance of financial protection, but I wanted to go deeper.
But here’s what I discovered: being good with spreadsheets, understanding insurance, and actually feeling confident about the complete financial picture are very different things.
Even with my professional background, I still had questions about the bigger picture.
How do we balance protecting our family today while building wealth for tomorrow? What’s the right mix of saving, investing, and enjoying life? How do we teach our kids about money while we’re still learning ourselves?
Sound familiar?
That’s when I realized that so many women are in the same boat. We’re managing our households, making financial decisions daily, yet we’re not getting the comprehensive education and support we need to feel truly confident about money.
This realization changed everything for me.
Why I Focus on Women
Women Face Unique Financial Challenges
Through my own experience and working with clients, I’ve learned that women often face unique financial hurdles:
- We’re often the household CFOs but rarely get formal financial education
- We may take career breaks for children, affecting our earning potential and retirement savings
- We tend to be more conservative with investing, sometimes to our detriment
- We often prioritize everyone else’s needs before our own financial goals
- We live longer on average, meaning our money needs to last longer in retirement
These aren’t weaknesses – they’re realities that require specific strategies and understanding. That’s exactly what I provide through Her Financial Help.
My Approach
Real Solutions for Real Life
I believe financial coaching should be:
- Practical, Not Preachy – No unrealistic advice like “just stop buying coffee.” I help you find balance between enjoying life today and securing your future.
- Judgment-Free – Whether you’re starting from scratch or getting back on track after a setback, every financial journey is valid. We start where you are, not where you think you should be.
- Family-Focused – As a mom, I understand that family finances are complex. Kids need things, life happens, and budgets need to be flexible enough to handle real life.
- Education-Centered – My goal isn’t just to tell you what to do – it’s to teach you why, so you can make confident financial decisions long after our coaching ends.
